Consultation on the Draft Children and Young People Plan 2009-2012
|

|
The Draft 2009-2012 Children and Young People Plan is now available online for consultation and we are looking forward to your comments. It has been based on a very thorough Needs Assessment, based on data and information from across partner agencies. Together the main themes arising from the Needs Assessment were identified, and these have informed each of the five outcome areas - Be Healthy, Stay Safe, Enjoy and Achieve, Positive Contribution and Economic Well-being – and the priorities and actions planned in relation to them.
The themes which were identified as central to improving the outcomes for South Gloucestershire are:
- Closing the gap in outcomes for the most vulnerable and the majority of children.
- Raising the aspirations of children, young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Promoting and supporting positive parenting.
- Reducing risky behaviour.
You can read the evidence for these in the draft plan, and what experts from across agencies and the voluntary sector say we need to do now. The final plan, once agreed, will influence local action, informing partners' plans so that together we target our joint efforts on the most important areas. Thank you to the many children and young people and colleagues who have contributed. You can view the consultation documents and complete the online response form or download a questionnaire to printout and return by visiting the consultation homepage.
