Engage Project Connexions South Gloucestershire
The Engage Project was established through Connexions South Gloucestershire in September 2007.
The aim of the project is to support young people aged 16 to 19 and living in South Gloucestershire to enter into employment, education or training.
The project offers young people the opportunity to gain accreditation including First Aid, Food Hygiene and basic Word Processing certificates. Activity days have been available to help increase the confidence of groups of young people as well as improve their team working skills.
Young people seeking help with job searching can attend job shops held in the Connexions Centres as well as outreach locations. The job shops provide help with job hunting, compiling CV’s, application forms and practicing interview techniques.
Other initiatives offered include practice and funding towards CSCS Construction Skills card and driving theory test.
The project has also assisted young people with transport for training and interviews as well as resources and materials allowing the young person to enter into college. The project has been accessed by over 500 young people and its success looks set to continue.
